Psyllium seed is mainly valued
for their Mucilaginous Husk,a thin white upper filmy
layer covering the Seeds, called Psyllium Husk, which is separated
from the Seeds by a mechanical process where no Chemicals
are used.
After through cleaning of Psyllium Seeds from the Cleaning
sections,de-husking the Seeds consists of crushing with emery
mills through eight passes and separation of Husk through
a closed circuit fully automatic pneumatic aspiration system.The
Husk is then passed through separators and winnowing for further
purification before custom packaging.
Fumigation and Sterilization:
The plant is equipped with special chambers for fumigation
by Methyl Bromide of incoming raw-material consingments,
and also for the finished products before they are taken
to the dispatch station for loading on to Containers and/or
Motor Trucks, to safeguard the product during transit.The
dosage of the fumigation and treatments are carried out as
per specifications of the importing countries and requirements
specified by the buyer.
Sterilization of the finished products with Ethylene Oxide and Gamma Rays Irradiation
are provide through contract ficilities upon specific request from the buyer.

Psyllium,popular as Isabgol or Isphagula (Botanical name
Plantago Ovata Forsk), and mainly grown in India
was popularized with the advent of Arabians and Persians
in India as early as 10th Century A.D. under the popular
name of Fleawort or Flea Seed Husk.
Its use as a mild laxative spread to the United States
and other European countries during middle of
19th century and increased substantially later on.Psyllium
has maintained an important place in therapeutics despite
the developement of many newer synthetic compounds.
In indigenous medicine , Ayurvedic and Unani, the Seeds and
Husks are used as an emollient demulcent and laxative, and
in the treatment of chronic constipation,amoebic and bacillary
dysentery,and diarrhoea.
Psyllium has high Fiber and more recently begin used in law
carbohydrate treats in USA.Early 1998, FDA in USA granted
manufactures the right to claim that Psyllium consumption
promotes lower cholesterol levels as part of a balanced program
of diet and exercise.
